Child Participation & Safety Policy

Our Commitment

Ease Your JAM is committed to ensuring the physical, emotional and psychological safety of all children who participate in our musical jam sessions. This policy applies to all team members, facilitators, coordinators, volunteers and adult participants involved in sessions that include minors.

General Principles

  • Participants under the age of 18 are considered minors.
  • Every child is treated with equal respect, care and inclusion.
  • Our jam spaces are designed to foster safe, expressive and age-appropriate musical collaboration.

  • Facilitator Responsibilities

    Safety & Supervision Protocols

  • A minimum of two adults must be present in the jam room when minors are involved.
  • Jam venues must be safe, clean and age-suitable.
  • Children must be dropped off and picked up by authorized guardians only.
  • No physical discipline or verbal shaming is permitted.

  • Recording & Privacy

  • Parental consent is required before recording any minor.
  • Session clips or images featuring children will only be used for educational or promotional purposes with explicit consent.
  • Children’s faces will not be highlighted in solo unless needed and approved.

  • Emergency & Incident Handling

    Boundaries & Misconduct

  • No private communication with minors outside of jams (e.g., DMs or texting)
  • No photography or video by facilitators for personal use
  • Any inappropriate behavior will result in permanent removal from the facilitator pool and potential legal action

  • Policy Review & Enforcement

  • This policy is reviewed annually or as required
